Dr.Malathi Balamurugan, Associate Professor of Physiology was awarded Medical Excellence Award and National Mahila Rathan Gold Medal and Award by Indian Solidarity Council and International Institute of Education and Management New Delhi in May 2018. She also received the Dr.A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Education Excellence Award given by International Business Council, New Delhi in August 2018.

8th AAPI-Global Healthcare Summit Research Award 2014 Winner Mrs.Sabitha Baby (1st Position)

The award being handed over by Hon.Ghulam Nabi Azad ( then Minister of Health and Family Welfare) and Hon.Vayalar Ravi ( then Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs )during the closing ceremony of 8th International Health care Summit of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, namely AAPI -GHS conference held at Ahmadabad during January 2-5, 2014 .

AAPI Global Healthcare Summit (GHS) 2014 was organized by the Association of American Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) in collaboration with the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs & Ministry of Health and the government of Gujarat, in Ahmadabad. It was attended by nearly 1,000 delegates from around the world. The research award competition was chaired by Gopal Batra, MD,FCCP, the AAPI Academic Affairs Committee and had Dr. Jayesh Shah, Dr.Sajani Shah, Dr.Raj Batra, Dr.Shri Mishra, Dr.Sridhar Nambi, Dr.Nirav Patel, Dr.Rajinder Singh, and Dr. Nitin Trivedi as its members. The winner was chosen from among the nearly 60 abstracts submitted from around the nation and r received a citation and a monetary award from Vayalar Ravi, India's Minister for Overseas Affairs and Ghulam Nabi Azad ,India's Minister of Health and Family Welfare during the final day of the Summit.

The title of the award winning paper was "Effects of graded doses of flax seeds (Linum usitatissimum) on learning and memory and the possible side effects in systemic organs : an experimental study in Wistar albino rats."
