In accordance with the official circular issued by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India (D.O. No. M-16011/55/2026-YN, dated 11th June 2026) and subsequent KUHS mandates, Karuna Medical College successfully observed the 12th International Day of Yoga. The objective was to cultivate a “people’s movement promoting health and wellness” while implementing the national guidelines at an institutional level.
The core theme designated for IDY 2026, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” was heavily integrated into the college’s programs. A mass practical session following the Ministry of Ayush’s Common Yoga Protocol was executed early in the morning. The event commenced promptly at 07:30 AM under the guidance of a qualified yoga instructor.

Principal, students, faculty members, and institutional staff actively participated in the practical training session. The session included foundational breathing exercises (Pranayama), stress-relieving asanas, and a brief session on mindfulness meditation designed to help medical students manage academic and professional stress.
